EXtreme Movie Manager 8.0.7.2 Full Version Free Downlaod

eXtreme Movie Manager 8.0.7.2

  Features:

DVD Upload
You can upload DVD information automatically or manually. eXtreme Movie Manager isn't restricted when it comes to automatic input sources. You can choose from multiple databases from all over the world to search for movie titles and barcodes. Unfortunately, this method of automatic upload really limits the software's ease of use. The screen where you search the database is the same screen you use to manually type in the information. If you type the title into the field, then you have to press an icon to actually begin the search of the database. From there you are given a huge selection of movie websites to collect your DVD information from including Amazon, DVDEmpire, IMDb and other popular online databases. This method of automatic upload requires you to only upload or import one movie at a time.
When you are searching the database, you can choose to preview your selected title to make sure it is the same movie you have. The preview screen is just a copy of the page your movie information is being pulled from. For example, if you choose to pull information from Amazon, the preview displays exactly as the movie page appears on the Amazon website.
DVD Details
eXtreme Movie Manager includes every tiny piece of movie information possible. In addition to title, director, cast and summary, you can also add awards, subtitles and your own custom fields. For movies on your hard drive you can also specify codec, bitrate, resolution and more.
Search Filters
Like most DVD collection software applications, you can sort your movies by folder, genre, personal rating, year and type of media. We also liked the included quick search. Just type in the title or actor you are looking for and eXtreme Movie Manager will do the rest. Users should be aware, however, that the quick search doesn't work well with misspelled words.
Additional Features
There are several additional features we found useful in this application. eXtreme Movie Manager keeps track of titles you've let your friends borrow and by using the loan sort you can easily see what movies are currently in someone else's hands. There are also a few useful plug-ins available including one that integrates the software with Windows Media Center. Another feature is a virtual view of all your movies called shelf. This puts all your cover art on a virtual shelf that you can browse.
Import/Export
eXtreme Movie Manager has multiple import and export options including CSV, TXT and HTML. We really like that you can import XML files from other DVD collection software applications into eXtreme Movie Manager. When using this option, keep in mind that most exports don't include cover art.

 Ease of Use:

Although eXtreme Movie Manager is a powerful DVD collection application with many features, its steeper learning curve kept it out of one of our very top spots. The automatic uploader was cumbersome and there were multiple times we added titles that contained no information. Once a movie has been imported, you have to click the refresh button for all the details and information to appear. However, once you get the hang of the software, it becomes easier to use.

Ease of Installation & Setup:

We didn't experience any real difficulties when downloading and installing eXtreme Movie Manager. However, it does require Microsoft .NET Framework. Although this is a bit of a deterrent, Microsoft .NET Framework is required for a wide range of software applications and chances are most people already have it installed. It also requires you to download an application called Techsmith if you want to use the tutorials. We weren't too keen on this additional download.

 Help & Support:

It seems that eXtreme Movie Manager knows it is a little difficult to use because it has one of the most extensive help sections we reviewed including step-by-step tutorials that walk you through how to use the software. They also include a quick guide, FAQs, online forums and email support. The movie collection software is difficult to use but so long as you use the tutorials, the likelihood of needing to actually contact support is slim.

Summary:

eXtreme Movie Manager is a great DVD collection application for those that are familiar with database software and don't need the bells and whistles included with other DVD collection software applications. However, there is still some work that needs to be done, such as making the application easier to use, before eXtreme Movie Manager is really at the top of its game.
